Krystal Cashen, PhD.

Assistant Professor of Psychology

Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Ohio Wesleyan University. Explore the pages above to learn more about me and my work!

About Me
As a developmental and family psychologist, I am primarily interested in how experiences unique to diverse family systems shape our development through the transition to adulthood. Much of my research has focused on LGBTQ+ parent and adoptive families. I am especially interested in  outcomes such as identity, community connections, and thoughts about family/parenting. You can find more information about my past publications and current projects on the pages above.

I am also passionate about teaching and collaborating with students on research.  You can find more information about the courses I am currently teaching on the Courses page.

Outside of work, I enjoy powerlifting, baking, spending time in nature, and hoping that my dog and cat will one day be best friends!
